My own favorite portrait of Bloom comes from the last years of his life (he passed away in 2019), in a 2018 interview for the Los Angeles Review of Books with the novelist Joshua Cohen, whose brief friendship with Bloom gave Cohen the stories that became the basis for his Pulitzer-winning novel, The Netanyahus.
